Gaurikund is the last point of road connectivity and the official starting base for the 16 km Kedarnath trek. This sacred place is known for its natural hot water spring, where pilgrims traditionally bathe before beginning the trek. The presence of the revered Maa Gauri Temple adds deep mythological and spiritual value.
From Gaurikund, pilgrims either begin the trek on foot or opt for pony, doli, or kandi services. The energy here is filled with devotion, faith, and determination, as thousands prepare themselves for one of the most spiritually demanding journeys in India.
Gaurikund symbolizes both physical endurance and spiritual surrender, making it one of the most emotionally significant points of the Kedarnath Yatra.
