My Char Dham Yatra Journey Day by Day

Day 1: Ahmedabad to Haridwar

I took a flight from Ahmedabad to Dehradun, where Travelophila’s driver picked me up, from there we drove towards Haridwar, took a holy dip in the Ganga, and attended the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. The energy of that moment was beyond words.

Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot

Early morning, we drive for Barkot en route we visited Kempty fall, Barkot is a gateway to Yamunotri. The beautiful drive through hills and rivers was wonderful. Our hotel stay was very good, and the food was homely.

Day 3: Yamunotri Darshan

A short drive took us to Janki Chatti, from where we trekked 6 km to Yamunotri Temple. Travelophila had arranged palkis and ponies for those who needed them. After the darshan, we returned to Barkot.

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi

Next day, we drove towards Uttarkashi, where we visited famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The peaceful and spiritual aura of this place made me feel deeply connected to Lord Shiva.

Day 5: Gangotri Darshan

We started early for Gangotri, where the holy Ganga River originates. The temple was surrounded by mountains, and the icy cold water was truly pious.

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

This was a long but beautiful drive. We stopped at Tehri Dam, a stunning sight. Upon reaching Guptkashi, we rested for the night before Kedarnath’s big day.

Day 7: Kedarnath Darshan

We took a helicopter from Sersi to Kedarnath, which saved us a lot of time. Seeing Kedarnath Temple closely was a divine experience. The aura of the temple and the beautiful Himalayas in the background gave us goosebumps.

Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

After the morning aarti, we returned to Guptkashi and rested. The smooth coordination by Travelophila made this possible without stress.

Day 9: Guptkashi to Badrinath

This day we visited Badrinath, the last dham of our yatra. A beautiful town surrounded by the Himalayan. We also visited Mana Village, the first Indian village before the Tibet border.

Day 10: Badrinath to Rishikesh

On our way back, we visited Devprayag Sangam, where Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meets to form the Ganga. In Rishikesh, we visited Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula before resting for the night.
