Chopta Holiday Packages Real Travel Story of Adventure & Friendship with Travelophila
A Real Travel Story
Hello friends,
My name is Pushpendra, and today I want to share something straight from my heart. This is not just a travel review — this is our real story of how me and my four friends from Dhampur, Uttar Pradesh, went on a 3-day weekend trip to Chopta with Travelophila’s Chopta Holiday Package.
We had always heard that Chopta is called the “Mini Switzerland of India”, but experiencing it with our own eyes was beyond words. It was not just a trip; it became a memory written in snow, friendship, and faith.

How Our Chopta Plan Started
It all began on a casual evening when we five friends were discussing how to use our short weekend holiday. One of our friends, who belongs to Uttarakhand, suggested:
“Why not explore Chopta, Tungnath, and Chandrashila? In winter, it’s a dreamland!”
The idea sounded so exciting that we immediately started searching online. The pictures of snow-covered Chopta, the divine Tungnath temple, and the breathtaking Chandrashila summit won our hearts. We knew — this was the destination for us!
But the next big question was: How do we go? Which package to choose?
It was our first-ever Uttarakhand trip, and also the first time we were booking a holiday package. Naturally, there was some doubt and hesitation.
We searched on Google and found almost 10+ travel companies. We shortlisted a few, took quotations from 3–4, and finally came across Travelophila. Their package was not just affordable but also came with a personal touch. Slowly, through conversations, our trust grew.
Finally, we spoke directly with Shubhank Maithani ji, one of the co-founders of Travelophila. He explained everything with patience — transport, meals, stay, trekking support — every detail was crystal clear.
To make things more comfortable, we even connected him with our Uttarakhand friend. After the call, our friend said,
“Bhai, he is genuine. And you know what? He belongs to Rudraprayag district, the same region where priests of Tungnath Temple come from. His Maithani Brahmin caste is traditionally connected with Tungnath. You can trust him.”
That was the final green signal for us. Our doubts vanished, and we booked the package.

Day 1 – From Dhampur to Chopta: A Journey of Faith & Excitement
We started early morning from Dhampur, our bags packed and hearts full of excitement. Our driver was Mr. Ashutosh Goswami, a humble soul from Uttarakhand. Within no time, he became more than a driver — he became our guide, our brother, and our travel companion.
Our first stop was Haridwar, where we offered prayers to Maa Ganga. After soaking in the divine energy, we continued our journey. On the way, we visited Maa Dhari Devi Temple, a sacred place where the sound of the river mixed with the mountain air made our prayers even more heartfelt.
By evening, we reached Chopta — and what a sight it was! Snow-covered meadows, fresh Himalayan air, and a silence that felt divine.
Stay in Chopta
Here also, we must thank Shubhank ji. Before booking, he gave us two options —
Homestay/Hotel at Sari Village (more comfort & rooms)
Camp Stay in Chopta (more adventure & fun)
Since we were a group of young friends, he advised us:
“If you want adventure, choose camping. Nothing matches the experience of sleeping under stars in Chopta.”
We agreed, and it was the best decision ever.
Our stay was arranged in camps run by Manvendra ji, a local friend of Shubhank. He was such a warm-hearted person. Not only did he host us, but he also guided us like family.
That night, we sat around a bonfire, sipping tea, singing songs, and talking endlessly under a sky full of stars. Dinner was special — matar paneer, roti, dal, rice, and the local sweet dish jhangore ki kheer. The cold night, the hot food, and the warmth of friendship made it feel like heaven.

Day 2 – Tungnath & Chandrashila: A Trek Beyond Words
The next morning, after packing hot aloo parathas for the trek, we began our big adventure — the Tungnath–Chandrashila trek.
Travelophila had arranged everything:
Rental trekking shoes & sticks
Chains for snow grip
Morning and night meals
The path was covered in snow, making it slippery, but Ashutosh bhai guided us carefully. Step by step, we reached Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. The divine aura, the silence of the mountains, and the snowy peaks around — it felt like Lord Shiva himself was blessing us.
But we didn’t stop there. We pushed ahead towards Chandrashila Peak. The climb was steep, the cold winds harsh, but with each other’s support, we finally made it to the top.
And there… words fail. The Himalayan giants — Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba — stood right before us, while clouds floated below our feet. We just stood there, speechless, with tears of joy in our eyes.
That night, back in Chopta, we celebrated our victory with bonfire, laughter, music, and memories we will cherish forever.
Day 3 – Farewell with Blessings
Our last day was emotional. We packed our bags, but Travelophila had planned some more spiritual stops for us.
We visited Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, offered prayers, and thanked God for a safe trip. Then at Devprayag Sangam, we witnessed the merging of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda to form the holy Ganga — nature’s own divine prayer.
Finally, we stopped at Rishikesh, admired its youthful vibe, and by night, returned to Dhampur. Our Chopta story had ended, but the memories will live forever.
