Joshimath

Joshimath is a sacred town situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, at an height of 1,875m. Joshimath is also known as Jyotirmath, it is among the four mathas or maths established by Adi Guru Sankaracharya. Joshimath is a gateway of Badrinath Temple and it also serves as the base camp for many trekking sights like Kuaripass trek, Pangarchula trek,etc. Narsingh Devta Templein Joshimath serves as the winter abode of the deity or doli of Badrinath Ji.
